Jaipur Watch Company: A Brand You Can Hear, Smell and Feel

India's first bespoke watchmaker tells beautiful stories. But its brand speaks to only one sense.

01The problem

Rich heritage, flat experience

Jaipur Watch Company (founded 2013) crafts heirloom watches inspired by stamps, polo, Raja Ravi Varma and the brides of Jaipur. But beyond the visuals, the experience was thin: the only sound was the tick, the only scent was the leather strap, and taste was unexplored. Luxury watch buyers now expect an experience, not just an object.

02How I approached it

Audit every sense, then fill the gaps

  1. 1
Mapped the current sensory touchpoints across sight, touch, sound, smell and taste.
  2. 2
Ran a SWOT and a positioning map, which showed low multi-sensory engagement compared with competitors.
  3. 3
Set a vision: link the brand to time itself, so each watch becomes a keeper of history.
The insight

A watch that keeps history should be felt with every sense, not just seen.

03How it's solved

A signature for every sense

Sound

A trademarked signature chime, brand music with sitar, tabla and flute, and a storytelling podcast on Indian craft and history.

Scent

A boutique signature scent of sandalwood, jasmine or saffron, carried into packaging and events.

Touch & sight

Handcrafted wooden boxes with brass accents, artisan videos and heritage motifs across every channel.

Experience

Artisan workshops, travelling pop-up exhibitions and VR tours of the atelier, anchored by the film “With Time, We Exist”.
